PEDALABLE MTB Knee Pads recommended for ENDURO, FREERIDE, DH, BMX
What do these MTB knee pads for TRAIL, ENDURO and FREERIDE use have in common?
First of all, they are PEDALABLE, even uphill, thanks to the construction type WITHOUT Velcro straps and the three-dimensional protective insert that softens with body heat and adapts perfectly to the knee.
The MTB kneepads are SO COMFORTABLE that you will leave the house wearing them and will no longer need to carry them around in a backpack or hip pack or keep them low on your calf.
This comfort also translates into SAFETY because you will wear them for the ENTIRE outing, accidents can happen even on banal stretches.
I think it has also happened to you out of laziness that you didn’t put your knee pads on sections of the route that deserved it, just because they were at the bottom of your backpack or on your calf and it was a pain to pull them up and adjust them.
You won’t even have the excuse that the heat makes you sweat too much anymore… you’ll wear NBP knee pads in ANY WEATHER and at ANY TIME OF YEAR because they’re made from durable polyamide mesh that allows air and sweat to pass through, just like the approved Level 2 protective insert.
The POLYAMIDE mesh is as tough and thin as a second skin and is also ELASTIC to better adapt to the shape of the knee, keeping the whole knee pad in light compression.
To make it even more comfortable, we’ve also worked on small details such as the type of seams that come into contact with the skin, choosing to finish them on the INSIDE so that there are no bulky seams.
A knee protector that slips down after a few minutes is simply unbearable, which is why we’ve worked hard to avoid this problem – a problem we’ve solved by applying silicone and PU anti-slip material to key areas.
We have avoided the use of the impractical ELASTIC TAPES with VELCRO, because it is difficult to have the same tightening adjustment on every release, running the risk of over- or under-tightening them, and you must also be careful not to invert the right and left kneepads.
Another problem with using Velcro is that with dirt and time it loses its effectiveness, running the risk of it coming off and hanging down during a descent.
We also did not provide for zips, which we consider to be a bad solution in terms of both comfort and product durability.
The NBP MTB knee-pad is equipped with a practical pocket that allows you to insert the LEVEL 2 HOMOLOGATED protective insert that you can remove when you decide to wash the knee-pad, thus guaranteeing a longer duration; many competitive knee-pads have these inserts that cannot be removed and therefore you cannot even check the state of the protection, if for example it is cracked due to a violent impact or shows evident signs of ageing such as cracks or cuts.
With NBP you can buy every single component that can be damaged, just the insert, just the casing (there is no right and left) or just a heat-bonded tape!
You also have removable side protectors made of visco-elastic resin that will protect you against frame impacts and side drops.
HOW TO CHOOSE THE PROTECTIVE INSERT:
NBP offers you the choice between two types of protective inserts, both of which provide Level 2 protection – the highest level available.
Both are manufactured by the German company SAS-TEC.
If you are looking for a more BREATHABLE but slightly less protective option, go for the THERMOPLASTIC ELASTOMER (TPE); if you are looking for MORE PROTECTION and LIGHTNESS, go for the PU-based VISCOELASTIC RESIN. (2 kN difference in residual force)
In terms of comfort, there are no noticeable differences between the two inserts in the MTB knee pads.
HOW TO CHOOSE YOUR SIZE: Look at the size chart and use a tape measure or a piece of string to measure the MAXIMUM CIRCUMFERENCE of your CALF, then select the appropriate knee brace size; if you fall between two sizes and are not slim but rather stocky, choose the larger size; if you are slim, choose the smaller size.
Our size chart is really well done, and if you take your measurements correctly, you won’t have ANY problems with the fit!
